1980
A Revolution

The 1980s can be called nothing short of a revolution as ownership of LWO was handed from Josh Vincent to son Paul Vincent.

Paul had immediately changed things, having had grown up learning the business he knew everything that was going on.

Paul talked to the wrestlers backstage about, "changing the routine" a bit.  Instead of just doing high flying they should add in some extreme protocal wrestling.  This meant that you'd see people flying through the air smashing each other with chairs.  Paul knew immediately that this would buy.

Not many liked the idea of putting their lives on the line for entertainment though.  After a week of proper training they were all ready and a revolution was lead in wrestling.

Music took a turn as well.  Paul Vincent introduced heavy metal music to the LWO.  The fans loved it as well.

Everyone had to have a gimmick though, not to the extent of Vince McMahon's tyrade of Dentists and Clowns, but to the extent where people had to do an acting job in the ring to keep their gimmick.

The federation quite possibly could have been at it's all-time high being almost a decade ahead of it's time.  No wrestling promotion in the world could top what they provided.
