1970 One It came time pass that the concept of "manly wrestler" died down. The old age of hardcore music died down and a softer more technological tone seeped in. It wasn't surprising that many wrestlers in hate of this era also retired. Those who didn't retire changed to fit the disco style. People began dressing in afro hair styles. People wore platform shoes, hooped pants. It was the style. All wrestlers were forced to change over. One person who didn't have a problem was Haku, who was already in this style with his small afro and disco pants. The style of wrestling began to change as well. People began to add some dance into their moves. People began to add some rhythm. New moves were invented that attracted more fans such as the elbow drop. Even with the decline in popular wrestlers in LWO, more fans had come to see the disco dancing wrestlers that LWO offered. But it soon became dull. The concept of dancing wrestlers simply became a joke. LWO upper management didn't have a clue to what to do about this either. What could you do? People hated what was produced, and that's all they could produce with the talents they had. American wrestling for once was taking over the market. Market researchers were sent to a small promotion in the US called IFW which had gained a lot of respect in short time. They had learned that disco was actually dying down quickly and new forms of music were forming. LWO had a choice to make. |
